  Orthodox, Catholic, Agglican, under the same roof...

  i don't know if this is happening in other places, but here is a great example how can christian churches co-exist under the same roof.. this church is 900 years old.

  and stands at a place were a basilica(an architectual term for the byzantine early churches was build in 340 a.d. the oldest relic of the early church in the island.

  unfortunately it was destroyed by an earthquake.

  Thank you for the interesting post.....

  I am in a wierd spot: My respect for the Romans has grown from pure hate to a distant understanding.

  I consider myself Anglican, however, I KNOW the Orthodox theology concerning the message of salvation in and around Jesus and the means and methods by which the Father brings us into communion with Him through Christ and in co-operation with the Holy Spirit is purely correct. The Orthodox represent the most pure stream of water flowing from Apostolic Times. I wish the Orthodox message was more visible so it could be considered more closely by Christians not in association with them. My wife's uncle is Antiochian Orthodox.

  I hope things are "stable" with you and yours. I keep you in prayer in the prayer that ends my day. Take care and be encouraged!!

  I may lose my wife because of Disfellowshipping

  have only been out of the organisation for 2 months and the wounds still run deep.

  particularly hard is the fact that my wife and 8 yr old son are now divided in our beliefs.

  we cannot go out as a family with our old friends like we use to.

  i come on tonight to see i had one new pm.

  come to find out, it is from evidently who has been signed up on the board for over a year but has never posted.

  this guy used to be an old boss of mine from way back when - i'd say around 12 years ago or so.

  Do you think DOCTRINE matters to most JW's? Did it matter to you?

  there's so much 'new light' coming out recently but i wonder if any of it really hits home to the average dub.

  i think a good deal of those who leave do so because of a lack of real, honest love.

  they get sick of the judgemental attitude and the continual grind.

  Doctrine, to me, was "The All." I was convicted the JWs had the correct teaching on that which mattered most: Good News, Nuetrality, The Kingdom, the Trinity, and several more. Then, due to the 144,000, literally, not "adding up" I started to get a bit quezzy....the rest is the same history as anyone that starts to question the authority of the GB. When I was told I had to falsify truth to prove my loyalty...the WT and I went two different directions....mine was up....they continued the opposite way....

  Now, I can eviserate the WT position in two hours using the NWT.....funny how things go....huh?

  Christmas Memories

  after my mom had left my dad, the elders came by pretty regularly.

  they wanted to remind her that she needed to return to her husband because she didn't have grounds to leave him.

  before all this we had so many family members over all the time, cousins and friends our age, but now all of them were gone.

  So how long ago did this first Christmas happen?

  What happened to your mom: is she in better circumstances and did she go back to the JWs?

  And, your brother...how is he?

  I believe when we die we go to The Land of the Dead. What is it? I do not know. What will we do? Don't know.

  It is acccepting the unknowns as a part of the Journey with the same cnfidence as accepting what I do know...which, by the way, is practically zip......

  The Borg is Hounding Me Now !

  i knew it was going to start soon.

  the hounding by the borg is in full throttle now.

  i have been experiencing the lull before the storm but it seems to be over and the hurricane is looming overhead.

  Imagine you have a boil or some other med condition that requires "lancing" so that it will drain, have the needed cleansing and medicating, and then the treatment to heal with as little scaring as possible....

  Would you rather have it lanced in a quick, clean manner or would you rather the doctor just sorta pick at it....maybe cut a bit into it and then wait a few minutes and cut another tad and then wait and cut a bit more in this jagged, "when will this end" mode?

  That is the situaiton you face now: you choose.

  V PS Wishing you well. This will not be easy no matter how it goes, however, this situation has the highest benefit to cost ratio of anything you will ever experience.....take care.....

  HOW SHOULD I PROCEED WITH THIS???

  i received this email on friday from someone i know: .

  i just got a call from the brother of the woman, *******, who is contemplating joining the jw group.

  he told me that he had spoken to his sister about someone who had been a part of the group (i had told him about you), and, she said that she would be interested in talking to you.. .

  Mary,

  I am still convinced the best place to start is Mathew 24:14 and focus on the fact that "THIS"" Good News is what would be preached. Show the effects of the Good News:

  Baptism

  New Birth

  Lord's Meal

  Etc.

  All the effects that would happen.

  Compare the effects with the Good News of Christ with the Good News of the JWs. If it is the sme....ok. If the JW good news results in a different effect then Galations Chapter 1 comes into plany....
